School of Business and Management (SBM)

WELCOME TO SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT (SBM)

The School of Business and Management (School of Management Sciences) is an off shoot from the School of Social and Economic Studies (College of Social and Economic Studies) which was established in 1977. The School started operating in 1999 focusing attention on the disciplines of management in both public and private sectors. It trains technical and professional personnel in the Social Sciences such as: Accounting, Business and Public Administration in order to meet part of the national, State and local strategies for social and economic development within the framework of privatization and liberalization policies and plans.

The School is acting as network for research through faculty members and students, and collects necessary data so as to become an important link between the ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É, Government Departments, Private sectors and Civil Society Institutions. The School has three departments of Accounting, Business Administration and Public Administration. It plans to diversify the specialization in order to respond with all departments in the field.

Objectives
  • Training of Diploma, Degree, and Postgraduate Degree candidates in the fields of Accounting, Business and Public Administration to serve in both public and private sectors.
  • Providing in-service training courses for serving officials, entrepreneurs and business leaders to enable them participate and contribute in the social and economic development of South Sudan.
  • Acting as a resource Centre for research and accumulation of data on management systems and procedures.
  • Assisting in the development of professional and technical cadres for the private and public sectors in the fields of management and accounting in the Republic of South Sudan.
  • To establish and contact partnership and link with national, regional and international institutions engaged in similar study and research activities.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE PROGRAMME (Regular)

The School of Business and Management offers Bachelor of Science Degrees (General and Honors) in the fields of Accounting, Business Administration and Public Administration.

INTERMEDIATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (Center for Human Resource Management and Continual Education)

The School of Business and Management offers three years intermediate diploma in collaboration with the Centre for Human Resource Management and Continual Education in the following majors: Accounting and Finance, Business Administration and Public Administration.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (UPGRADING PROGRAMME)

The School of Business and Management offers two years upgrading of intermediate diplomas into Bachelor Degrees (General) in the fields of: Accounting, Business Administration and Public Administration. This program is a part-time program run in the evening hours.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE, POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA AND MASTERS PROGRAMME (Distance)

The School of Business and Management offers Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Post Graduate Diploma and Master Degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration and Public administration in collaboration with Centre for Distance Education.

POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME (Regular)

The School of Business and Management offers graduate studies in collaboration with the Graduate College in the fields of: Accounting and finance, Business Administration and Public Administration with an award of Post graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Master degree in Public Administration, Accounting and Finance and Business Administration (various specializations).
