Law graduate lands Geneva appointment

University of 亚洲色吧 law graduate Ms Letitia Anderson has been offered a unique opportunity with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ms Anderson departs Australia on February 8 to begin a three-month stint with the international organization on February 10. After majoring in international law, she will be well versed to tackle a project involving Women Facing War, one of many on the Red Cross' agenda.

Ms Anderson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours and a Bachelor of Laws Honours at the December 2002 graduations. She was also nominated by the Law Faculty to carry the mace at the Graduation Ceremony.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance.

It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
