WELCOME TO SCHOOL OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SCSIT)

ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É established the Computer Studies Centre (CSC) in July 1996. In accordance with the resolution of the Senate and the authorization of ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É Council (statute number 15). The Centre was opened with the latest technical specifications and its main aim was to meet the practical requirement for short and intermediate Computer Skills training courses for government and private institutions as well as individual applicants. Following the increase in the demand for computer graduates, the Centre was upgraded in April 2009 to a full School of Computer Science and Information Technology (SCSIT) offering two Bachelor of Science degree programs (5 years) in either Computer Science or Information Technology.

Mission
  • To provide quality education in Computer Science and Information Technology to meet the requirements of the professionals, academicians and society.
  • To provide a learning conducive environment to enhance research, innovation, real problems solving skills, leadership qualities, team work and ethical responsibilities.
  • To establish cooperation with industries and government institutions in order to enhance curriculum and improve entrepreneurship skills.
  • To enable students to effectively work in a dynamic technological era.
  • To establish recognize research Centre nationally, regionally, and internationally that exposes students to broad research experience.
  • To provide postgraduate programmes such as postgraduate diploma, masters, doctor of philosophy (PhD), and post-doctorate leading to life-long learning for transforming society into base economy as well as the nation.
  • To promote research based projects activities in advanced areas of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity (Proposed).
Objectives
  • To meet the demand of the labor market for Computer and IT trained professionals.
  • To provide students with the knowledge and skills in computing and communication technologies to enable them to succeed in their future life no matter which field of work they choose.
  • To eradicate ICT illiteracy to keep the digital divided to a minimum to that South Sudan is not deprived from becoming a full and dynamic member of the global community.
