On September 27, 2024, the ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É’s School of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies received a vehicle donation from the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).
The signing/handing over ceremony was attended by key University officials, including Professor Robert Mayom Deng, Vice Chancellor of the ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É, Professor Isaac Cleto Rial, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Bojoi Moses Tomor, Registrar for Administration and Finance, Professor Salah Khatir Jubarah, Dean of the School of Natural Resources & Environmental Studies, and the Heads of Departments from the School of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies.
During the ceremony, the formal signing of the donation documents took place in the office of the Vice Chancellor. Professor Robert Mayom Deng presented a gift and appreciation letter to the FAO Country Representative, expressing his gratitude for the donation and emphasizing that it marks the beginning of a collaborative relationship through an upcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing skill development and research initiatives.
Mr. Meshack Malo, FAO South Sudan Country Representative, expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Mayom Deng, highlighting the critical role of agriculture in South Sudan’s economy, alongside oil revenue. He emphasized the importance of equipping students with skills to drive the agricultural sector forward and affirmed the FAO’s commitment, alongside partners like the African Development Bank (AfDB), to develop a structured Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting the University in training young leaders who will contribute to the country’s future.
