Current Opportunities
The ASEAN Research Collaboration Project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education through the International Education Innovation Fund (IEIF), and delivered in partnership with the RMIT Asia Hub. The initiative supports Early Career Researchers from ASEAN member states to undertake funded research placements in Australia, fostering professional growth and strengthening long-term academic and industry partnerships across the region.
Applications are now open for the ASEAN-Australia Centre 2025-26 grants round.听$2.2 million is available for the 2025-26 opportunity, with applicants able to apply for a grant between AUD$50,000 and AUD$200,000 per annum.听Applications are open across three priority areas - creative industry initiatives, projects involving Australians of Southeast Asian heritage, and research to support trade and investment access.

The 2025-26 Maitri Grant program is now open and has been expanded with over $5 million available to support projects听that will strengthen the Australia-India relationship.听The Centre is seeking to fund projects that will drive new areas of business engagement between Australia and India in sectors outlined in A New Roadmap for Australia's Economic Engagement with India, and further deliver high impact cultural, and people to people projects, activities and exchanges.

The 2025-26 Maitri Fellowships program is now open. The program supports leading policy researchers to undertake secondments with prominent Australian and Indian organisations through inward, outward or two-way streams.听The program will build institutional links and academic capacity in both countries, and enhance public discourse on our bilateral, economic and broader geostrategic relationships.听

The 2025-26 Maitri Scholarships program is now open. The program helps high-performing Indian scholars complete Doctor of Philosophy studies in STEM-related fields at Australian universities that align to priorities outlined in A New Roadmap for Australia鈥檚 Economic Engagement with India 鈥 clean energy, agribusiness, technology and IT, resources and METS, defence industries, space and health. It aims to deepen educational links to support greater economic ties between Australia and India.

Applications are now open for the MLFP Research Grants. The grants aim to develop research collaborations between South Australia and Japan in urban planning, urban design, environmental management and related disciplines. Up to AUD$20,000 per project is available with applications accepted on a rolling basis.
The AJF expands people-to-people and institutional links through programs and partnerships on contemporary issues, including economic diplomacy, the arts, media, education, business, science, technology, and sport.
The听New Colombo Plan Mobility Program听supports Australian undergraduate students鈥 participation in study, language training, internships, practicums and research in the Indo-Pacific region.听
International Fellows Awards
The University of 亚洲色吧鈥檚 International Fellows Awards are designed to foster collaboration and connectivity between leading global researchers and the University.鈥疐unds of up to AU$20,000 per Award are available to support internationally based researchers鈥痶o visit our campuses for 4-8 weeks.听Visiting Fellows will build valuable relationships, have access to world class research, expertise and facilities at the University, and further build their academic profiles.听
The AKF provides grants to organisations and individuals to deliver projects that strengthen the Australia-Korea relationship in ways that enhance mutual understanding and people-to-people links. The AKF grants are administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Round 5 of the Innovation Partnership Grants听offers financial support for innovative ideas to be delivered through Australia 鈥 Vietnam Partnerships and reaffirms Australia's听commitment in helping to enhance the capability of Vietnam's innovation ecosystem.听The theme of this Grant round is听鈥淗igh Tech Innovation to Address Climate Change Challenges in the Agriculture Sector for Inclusive Development鈥. Aus4Innovation is looking听for听innovations centred around the application and/or transfer of high-technologies (with a focus on digital technologies) to tackle climate change challenges in the agricultural sector, with the ultimate goal to contribute to Vietnam's inclusive development.听
The intended outcomes of the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations 2025-26 Grants Program听include facilitating听dialogue in priority areas that further Australia鈥檚 national interest, including arrangements that establish or strengthen relationships with counterpart organisations in mainland China, Hong Kong and/or Taiwan,听furthering climate change, net zero, green economy and clean energy transition outcomes, and showcasing Australian excellence in, and enhancing people-to-people links through, exchanges in culture, the arts, sports, education, academia, innovation, science, health, aviation, and tourism.
