The Swiss Confederation awards annual Excellence Scholarships to promote international exchange and research collaboration with over 180 countries.听
Who can apply?
- Young researchers from any academic discipline
- 听Applicants who have completed a Master鈥檚 degree or PhD
- Artists holding at least a Bachelor鈥檚 degree
What鈥檚 offered?
- Fully funded opportunities for postgraduate studies or research in Switzerland
- Mentorship and support from the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS)
The ThinkSwiss program gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience at top Swiss universities and research institutes.

- Master鈥檚 students currently enrolled at an Australian university or a Pacific Island university (Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, or Fiji)

The Mertz Fellowship, supported by the Swiss Polar Institute, the Antarctic Science Foundation, and the Embassy of Switzerland in Australia, funds early-career researchers in polar and high-altitude science.
