Setting Up your Digital Essentials

  • ✓ Your University of ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É Account


    Every student is provided with a University account. You will use this account to access all University IT resources.ÌýYour account is in the format of your student number followed byÌý@adelaide.edu.auÌýe.g. a1234567@adelaide.edu.au

    To activate your account, you will need to know your student number. When you are ready to activate,Ìýclick here.

    Please note that as part of the account activation process, you will be prompted to set up Multi Factor Authentication, which you can read more about below.Ìý

  • ✓ Multi Factor Authentication


    You will be prompted to set up Multi Factor Authentication when activating your University account.ÌýThis adds an extra layer of security to your account to protect both you and the University.Ìý

    You can use the University’s OKTA Verify app, your preferred authentication app including Google Authenticate, Microsoft Authenticator, or Apple Passwords.

  • ✓ Email Address


    Your University email address will be the same as your University account username
    e.g. a1234567@adelaide.edu.au

    You can set up this email account on your personal devices using Microsoft Outlook, or your preferred application/s.

  • ✓ University Wireless Network (Internet/WiFi)


    You can access the internet on campus by connecting to the University’s WiFi network from your personal devices, including laptop, phone and tablet.

    To connect, select the UofAÌýnetwork from the list of wireless networks and log in using your University account.ÌýAlternatively, open the Quick Connect Tool on the device you want to connect by

    Microsoft 365 (Office)

    Current students have free access to all key Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint and Forms, as well as OneDrive where you can store files.Ìý

  • Printing


    All students are provided with $18 of free printing every six months (periods begin 1 January and 1 July). You can see a list of printing costs byÌýclicking here. Students can top up their quota if needed once they have used their $18 quota by clicking here.Ìý

    To print a document your device will need to be connected to the University's WiFi network, and you will need to print to theÌýFollow-You-Print-Q.ÌýOn the nearest printer you can then scan your Student ID card or login using your University account to release the print job.Ìý
